Matt is completing his first term in the Maine Senate. He is running for re-election to continue representing the good people of Alfred, Lebanon, Sanford and Waterboro in Senate District 33. Prior to serving in the Senate, Matt served four consecutive terms in the Maine House of Representatives.
Matt's background
Matt was born and raised here in Maine. He received an Associates’s degree in fire science from Southern Maine Community College and a Bachelors degree in Criminology from the University of Southern Maine.
Matt spent eight years working in the fire service here in Maine, as a Firefighter and Advanced EMT. Matt has also been a police officer for over seventeen years in southern Maine and continues to do so in a part time capacity. Matt is also a real estate agent, primarily serving Southern Maine.
Matt is active in his local community. He serves as a board member for the Sanford Mainers, a New England Collegiate Baseball League (NECBL) team, is a member of the Sanford Elks, a Freemason and is a Shriner with Kora Temple. Matt has also volunteered on his church’s board of trustees, rising to the level of vice chairman and later Chairman.
Matt lives in Sanford, with his wife Lauren and their two hound dogs Bailey and Bullet.
